We’re looking for a business process-focused Senior Data Analyst. You will build tools to better inform internal teams, support data-driven decision making, and enhance customer experience. This role will also help shape our core culture and grow our team. You’ll be working on the biggest big data challenges the company faces and will execute across domains.

What You’ll Do

  • Owning the relationship with and building intuition for the needs of cross-functional teams – like finance, product, and customer support – to deeply understand the “why” behind requests and connect analyses to business outcomes
  • Developing end-to-end reporting solutions to drive transparency and promote operational efficiency 
  • Working with leadership to create, refine, and maintain metrics to track company performance.
  • Conducting data driven investigations into trends and anomalies impacting growth, customer success, product delivery and reliability.
  • Becoming an expert of our entire data stack: how we get the data from customers, how we normalize that data, and how internal teams and customers consume that data.
  • Building, maintaining, and testing data models which support reporting and analytics.
  • Improving our customer facing reports, visualizations and dashboards that highlight the value SmarterDx delivers to our customers.
  • Providing data analysis support for our AI-based products.

What You Bring

  • 3-5+ years’ experience as a business intelligence analyst or a data analyst embedded in a finance organization (or, if your y-intercept is lower, evidence that your slope is super steep)
  • Strong technical skills: querying data with SQL, building ETL pipelines, performing analysis with python, and communicating findings with compelling data visualizations
  • Experience with health system clinical and/or revenue cycle data
  • Strategic: strong ability to connect analytics to business understanding and concrete use cases
  • Ownership mindset: Build and own features from start to finish.
  • Versatile: Deal well with ambiguity and understand that there is sometimes a need to hack a feature together.
  • Product focus: How can we maximize the utility and value we deliver to our end users?

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dbt, Hex, or Evidence
  • Familiarity with clinical codes (ICD), DRGs (MS-DRG, APR-DRG), payor-specific rate data, zero-day change charge back data, 835/837 data
